In today's game we had an issue: do indirect weapons like howitzers and mortars require line of sight in order to shoot? For example if a infantry squad is right behind a building, can my mortar fire at it?

Hi w4rp1g, you do not need line of sight for indirect weapons - we assume there are spotters and suchlike dotted around the table and that you know where enemy units are

Another doubt came up in today's game: can Indirect weapons fire at infantry completely inside smoke? If so, do they receive cover from Howitzer fire? And how does mortar (with its ignore cover rule) behave?

Hi W4rP1g - Smoke only ever counts as light cover against indirect weapons - its the very last sentence in the Smoke rules You could potentially play this 2 ways though: -Infantry partially obscured by smoke receive no cover from indirect weapons, while more than 50% obscured only receive light cover or -Infantry obscured by smoke only ever receive light cover, whether partially obscured or not I guess it depends on what feels most realistic to you. We would probably play the first option (and I will edit the rules to be more clear in future!) Note that the cover given from smoke represents not knowing exactly where the target is, rather than actual protection from casualties. Hope that helps

Of course, I can't imagine how I missed that line, I feel so stupid right now I'll go for option one, sounds better!
